There are literally thousands of skin care ingredients on the market today. Some people like to purchase expensive creams and lotions, while others prefer to use the cheaper products without putting a dent in their bank account. One thing is for sure, no matter which kind of skin you have, no matter what type of acne you have, or whether you are a man or woman, there are skin care ingredients you need to stay away from. Here’s why.
The biggest advantage of having an effective skin care regimen is protecting your skin from the damaging effects of sun exposure. Your skin has three layers: the dermis (inner layer), the epidermis (visible top layer) and the dermal subcutaneous tissue (deep layer). The outermost layer of the skin is called the stratum corneum. This layer protects the inner layers of the skin from the effects of direct sunlight. However, the layer beneath the stratum corneum can be affected by UV rays, especially when you are outside in the sun.
When your skin is exposed to the harmful effects of sun damage, the results include wrinkles, dryness, age spots, dryness, flaking and other skin conditions. These problems can be avoided by using a skin care regimen that contains good skin care ingredients. The most important ingredient to avoid is mineral oil. It is used as an additive to moisturizers and makeup. The reason it is used so commonly is because it does not have an oily feeling to it, thus making it less likely to clog your pores. Mineral oil is also extremely difficult to remove from your skin and causes drying and itching. The only reason it is found in some products is to add color, but most skin care creams and lotions use mineral oil anyway.
